This area of our website is designed to give you an insight into the timber, paint and glazing system that is applied to our sash windows. As well as being traditional in its appearance our product boasts a low maintenance durability factor and a subtle double-glazing system that has proven to be one of the most successful.
Many original sash windows still in situ today are approaching 100years old if not more. They were constructed, in most cases in a softwood timber, used a basic paint system and used only 3-4mm float glass.
Our modern timber windows are constructed using traditional methods and copy the original profiles within 2-3mm. They comply with government set legal requirements using slim-line part L compliant units. This will preserves the unique look of your period home whilst allowing you to have energy efficient windows.
Keeping the windows maintained could not be more straight forward; a good wash each year will ensure they are looking fresh. Once every 7-9 years a light sand and top coat is to be applied in order to keep there weather resistance at a maximum.
